At the 10 session of the General assembly of the UNESCO Intageble cultural Heritage meeting in Paris, Dragon Dance Theatre, the non-profit organization that Sam founded in 1976 was selected as a Non-Governmental Organization accredited to provide advisory services to the UNESCO Committee which oversees the safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

It was part of a group exhibit at the Usine106U gallery exhibit. Montreal, Québec.

La Ménagerie du Dragon. Over a 2 km stretch of the Trois-Rivières (Québec) bike path, a series of large engravings (36 X 48 inches) depicting the animals of the forest. This series was exhibited in two different sections of the bike path.

– Duo exhibit with Katah. Montpelier City Center, Vermont. A series of engravings and watercolors that emerged from the work Sam and Katah did while working on the island of Lesvos and in refugee camps.
